Matthew sent home from Nursery

Matthew had a very high temperature at Nursery. I called NHS direct and advised to take him home and call the doctors. Because of the Swine Flu epidemic at the moment, he was not allowed to go to doctors or hospital.

Doctor called had he prescribed Trimethoprim 50mg / 5ml suspension again, same as before, incase he still had a urine infection. He also prescribed Tamiflu for children. He had to two two 2ml a day.

Over night high temperatures controlled with calpol and nurofen.

Urine infection found

July 2nd, 2009 by admin

Doctors had written to come in to see them. Saw Dr Matthews (?) today, said he had a urine infection. She prescribed Trimethoprim 50mg / 5ml suspension to Matthew for 7 days to clear up infection. She also referred him to a Paedeatric doctor later. She wanted him to have another urine test next week.

Discharged from hospital

June 24th, 2009 by admin

Matthew was discharged later in the day. The blood results came back to show his Haemoglobin levels were a little low. It was probably due to his temperatures and was scheduled to come back to Hospital in a few weeks time to have another blood test. He was sent home.

Had a call from Nursery to say that they found blood in Matthew’s urine. I took him to FPH after work and they did a urine test and blood test.

The result of the urine test did show that there was blood in there. As he had a bit of a temperature, he was admitted to F1 children’s ward for the night. They took blood from him later that evening.
